Biography

 

Alejandro de Nevares is partner of Columbus Merchant Banking. He has over 20 years of Investment Banking experience. Mr. de Nevares has been involved in the origination, structuring, syndication and distribution of a variety of financial instruments, participating in more than 500 deals throughout Latin America, many of which are considered landmark transactions in the region.

 

Prior to joining Columbus he was Latin America Investors Sales Head at Citigroup New York, being responsible for the distribution strategy and management of the sales teams in Latin America, Mexico and Brazil. While in Citigroup, Mr. de Nevares was also in charge of the syndication, underwriting, distribution and trading of fixed income instruments. He coordinated the re-opening of Citicorp Valores S.A., Citigroup’s stock broker arm in Argentina and was also responsible for Citibank’s equity back-book in Argentina. Additionally, Mr. de Nevares structured numerous IPOs, Commercial Papers, Corporate Bonds, Deposits and Structured Notes, being a pioneer in the Argentine corporate bond trading market. Prior to that, he was first a credit analyst and then a trader at Banco Mildesa S.A (now Banco Patagonia) and previously held a position at Daniel H. Milberg &Co., a Buenos Aires Stock Exchange broker.

 

Alejandro de Nevares holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Buenos Aires. In addition he has an Executive MBA from The Fuqua School of Business- Duke University.
